SUPPORT THE DOMINICAN-HAITIAN KIDS
El Valle
El Valle is a non profit, catholic school that helps Haitian children in the Dominican-Haitian border region. Since the school is located in a very rural area with limited educational opportunities, some students have to walk up to 2 hours to get to school. This school is run by a Roman Catholic congregation of religious sisters called, the Daughters of Jesus. Biula Ramos Muñoz is the nun who leads and provides food and education for these kids who are very poor.
El Valle provides education for grades kindergarten to 6th grade. These kids range from 5-19 years old. Many older students still learn at the lower grades because of the lack of education.
Today, the school consists of 260 kids and growing, but this school contains only one solidly built classroom while the other classrooms are made of temporary structures like scraps of metal, plastic, and zinc roofs.
We are committed to donating school supplies that these kids need such as backpacks, notebooks, pencils, uniforms, and more! In the future, we may also build classrooms to expand the school and learning facility.
